Founded by Farrah Sit, Light + Ladder is a ceramics company in Brooklyn, NY, and is based around Sit's motto "Own less, own well." Here, Sit and her team design products in the company's studio with the mission to "make artistic, ethical design widely accessible." The products are functional objects inspired by the stillness of nature, as well as a minimalism in design. The ceramic objects are handcrafted in Vermont at a studio that follows sustainable practices. The energy supply is 100% carbon-free. For larger objects, these are fabricated in Portugal in a female-owned factory. Sit chose this factory because the craftspeople share her values of family and community, as well as a commitment to sustainability.
